ConCalls: Standing On Guard

It’s apparent to many (bloggers) that the systems Canadians entrusted to keep our election free of crime to a point where we could trust the result as legitimate, have let us down. As this staggering truth percolates through Canadian political culture, it means changes will have to take place for us to remain a democracy in spirit.

Fantino with Harper
On the list of obvious failures in enforcement, is the alleged second bank account for Julian Fantino (RoboCop). Here’s a case where there are legal documents filed as evidence that there was a secret, and illegal second bank account for Fantino’s CPC campaign in Vaughn. Elections Canada has not pressed charges, but only continues to investigate in secret. Is this because they don’t consider those involved as flight risks, so they can take their time? How would that approach make sense, when a Minister of the Crown, busy passing legislation, operates in Parliament unimpeded despite extremely grave allegations against the legitimacy of his seat? What sort of alleged crimes with paper trails take months to investigate before charges are laid, when multiple witnesses have come forward and provided affidavits? Would an alleged bank robber be left at large to spend their spoils, while the RCMP determine where the thief obtained funding for their vault cracking tools?

[summed] up as a one act play:

Player One: ”Ruh roh, I think we just violated the Canada Elections Act”

Julian Fantino Campaign Committee: [silence]

END SCENE.

Thank goodness for Brian-Michel and other Canadians standing on guard for thee. Elections Canada had 9 months to do something other than investigate in secret while crimes go unpunished. Start laying charges already where there is enough evidence collected already, and worry about shoring up the cases before the trials with additional details and more ensnared accomplices. Time is of the essence!

A month later, where are those charges?
