2035 Is Too Hard: NDP and Sask Party and now UCP

A month ago the Sask Party and the SK NDP both said for different reasons, that getting our energy system to net-zero emissions was too hard. The NDP said this was because the Sask Party did nothing so far to improve emissions, while the Sask Party prefers to believe the coal-burning SaskPower that they can’t manage to do anything for decades.

A month later, the Alberta UCP Conservative party says they too can’t meet a 2035 target. Suspiciously similar. A difference is that SaskPower is a Crown corporation, an arms-length government agency raided for profits by the Sask Party government, also says they can’t do it. Pandya doesn’t wan to try to beat 2035, he’d rather shoot at 2050 when he’ll be long gone from the Crown corp.

Meanwhile, Alberta and Saskatchewan are covered in smoke.
