WHO wants people to be aware that there’s no assured victory against COVID-19. I still think it’s possible to eradicate it, but it will take a global effort that surpasses what we’ve tried thus far.
We, for one thing, definitely have to figure out what’s going on in cases of apparent reinfection:
This ‘we need to figure out what’s going on’ frames the problem wrong. The underlying assumption ‘we can have immunity that lasts longer than a few weeks’ is the thing that needs evidence to be believed. Start with the assumption that there is no immunity and go from there.
Too hopeless to consider seriously, we already have insurmountable problems bigger to deal with.
