Joe Oliver Is Trash Like the Financial Post

Canada has had some bad Ministers of Finance, but can you think of a stinkier one than Oliver in his time since being tossed? Just yesterday the odious Financial Post published a factually incorrect account of climate change, for the benefit of fossil fuel companies which Oliver serves.

The climate alarmists are keeping poor people in the dark — literally
It is impossible to elevate people in dire need to a decent standard of living without inexpensive electricity

However, failed predictions about […] islands sinking into the sea and extreme weather events have seriously undermined their scare tactics and moral preening. The evidence simply does not substantiate the apocalyptic prophesies.

Islands don’t sink into the sea, that’s not the prediction, Joe. It’s rising sea levels. It may look as the same disastrous result, but science has never said that islands will literally sink as a result of climate change.

Also, about that supposed lack of climate disasters, how many years ago was it that downtown Calgary, and also downtown Toronto flooded?

Now Oliver has a new role to spread his ignorance or his fossil-malice. He’s an independent energy board crony of the Ford government. I’m sure they’ll find his skills as an island-sinker very handy.

If Money Buys Things and Minds

You can find no shortage of angry Conservatives who are absolutely livid with the Prime Minister or Rachel Notley for not yet expanding a pipeline to the BC coast from Alberta. Why did they get so mad, and who paid for them to think this way?

There’s a BC “researcher” who claims it was because of a few million dollars gifted to Canadian charities from outside of Canada that swayed public opinion against new pipelines just enough to delay them. That might be possible, if money changes minds, and I think money absolutely can change minds.

So if you accept that money changes minds, how do you explain the minds changed by this money:

Remember, a billion dollars is a 1000 times more than a million. A trillion is a thousand times more than a billion.

If media is spreading this sort of public opinion, then who has the facts upon which we can make good, rational decisions? CBC?

Mansbridge, Murphy, Mesley, Cherry
What do they have in common?
CBC.
What else? They’ve all either supported climate change Denialism, or outright subscribe to that and have used their massive platforms to push it onto unwitting Canadians.

Who do I turn to for rational analysis of energy and economy news? CBC (surprising eh?), National Observer, Walking Eagle News. I threw that last one in there to see if you’re paying attention. Where do I not look? Financial Post (Postmedia), Sun (Postmedia), Leader-Post (Postmedia)… are you seeing a trend here?

Meteor Explodes Over Ocean in 2018

#CPCracists Leader

About the time that the odious racist Kellie Lietch was contending for the leadership of the CPC with Maxime Bernier and the guy who kept Syrian refugees out of Canada for years to suffer in camps instead, the media dropped the ball. It’s been objectively clear for years now that the Conservative Party of Canada is now a party run by, and in many cases for, racists. Has the Main Stream Media let the average Canadian know that the Official Opposition party promotes hatred against Muslims?

Elizabeth May in Saskatchewan

It’s been another amazing day, and the Sun isn’t even down yet.
Attended a lunch-and-learn this morning with @ElizabethMay at the new CAC #UofR building.

Then we got a tour of Cowessess’s Renewable Energy facility a few kilometers past their gas station east of Regina on Arcola Ave.

Now May has left for Fort Qu’Appelle for a forum on climate change. It’s in Scheer’s home riding, but he declined to attend! (The coward…)
The official video of the event had sound issues. Here are some clips:

Is Saskatchewan Leaving? Not That Way

Should Saskatchewan leave Canada?

It’s nonsense. We can’t even leave Saskatchewan, by bus.

Why is the daily newspaper amplifying a stupid, divisive, ill-conceived billboard ad anyway? Are the separatists taking the free newspaper coverage into account when they purchase their billboard?

The reason there are some loons looking to separate is because they work in extractive industry, feel they are hard done by because their dirty NON-RENEWABLE jobs are running dry, and if they just blame Ottawa hard enough they’ll get their good times back.

How else does Moe nurture the fantasies of separatists? His party is mocking Alberta’s economic projection simply because their government is presently NDP, even though they’re also pro-oil. He’s also making us pay for a futile carbon tax court challenge, against our future.

Maybe I should express less disdain for the local daily newspaper. Then again, they keep running a column of someone who once libeled me in his column there. And they regularly publish other Climate Change Deniers, who are harming our world and consequently our families.

I can’t tell if their cold recklessness in misinforming people is maliciousness or simple indifference or stupidity. There’s a razor that answers that, but I’m still leaning toward maliciousness as the cause. I don’t want to accept that such a large organization is that corrupt, but obviously it can be.
