It’s been obvious since last Summer that indoor transmission is a risk because the virus is airborne. Would you go into a room with someone who has measles or TB? Not effing likely. Why? Because you wouldn’t want to trust that they and you are wearing your masks perfectly.
So why are some people comfortable sending their kids to old, poorly ventilated, crowded schools with literally dozens or hundreds of other “bubbles” mingling? It makes no GD sense. How’s it possible? A coordinated gaslighting campaign to make you think you’re being unreasonable to be uncomfortable about kids eating indoors at school with dozens of people while the Government says it’s too unsafe for adults and kids to do the same thing at restaurants in the same cities and towns.
Somewhat to my surprise, Saskatchewan managed last March and April to “Flatten the curve” and not exceed our ICU capacity in hospitals. A big part of this success was a lockdown where the streets were visibly empty for most of the day and night, kids were home from schools and many day cares, and many people could claim CERB emergency funding while they couldn’t work at their usual jobs.
Then Moe lied about using the virus reproduction rate to guide public health measures, and hasn’t looked back as wave after wave hits the people of this province, killing hundreds so far.
Then 2021 March and April, Saskatchewan did everything wrong. Schools and restaurants and other businesses nearly fully open, and the streets are jammed with every person going everywhere.
