We’ll Always Have Paris

That prediction/lie didn’t work out too well.

On Wednesday, Todd D. Stern, the United States special envoy for climate change, who was in Beijing for talks, said that some Chinese officials had expressed concern about whether President Obama’s successor would ensure that the United States was committed to the global climate accord reached in Paris in December.

Mr. Stern said he had tried to reassure the officials. “I think it would be highly surprising to me if anybody elected were to try to pull the United States out of that,” he said at a news briefing.

  1. It would annoy the Vulgarian no end to be tried as a juvenile. It would annoy him no end to ever be tried at all, no matter that at this point there’s likely an evidence trail a kilometre wide and ten kilometres deep. Not as deep as the Marianas Trench, true, but even so…
