“Ex-justice department bureaucrat named federal elections commissioner as major investigations continue”
It’s one of those announcements where the appropriate response is probably to weep for lost opportunities. Nothing gets done spending time in the fetal position though, so we’ll have to make the most of the less than ideal situation. Since the new guy doesn’t take over until July 3, it’s safe to say there will be no charges in RoboCon until at least the fourth of July at the earliest. That’s going by overly optimistic, wild dreams too. Criminals, have a happy Canada Day weekend.
We can hope the management turnover at Elections Canada doesn’t jeopardize the investigation into the illegal robocalls that happened in 200 ridings last election. After months of knowing the details, it’s frustrating that the “experts” who know more than we do, don’t have the courage to immediately act against the enemies of our democracy. In these times, it’s not just cowardice that jeopardizes our country, it’s also conformity. Conformity is wrong, when the status quo is to accept bad people as being above the law.
